I am beginning my 14th year of teaching.  I earned my Masters of Education with Special Education emphasis from James Madison University. I am certified to work with learning disabled and emotionally disabled students.  I am within 2 classes of having the additional endorsement of Middle School English.  I am a Founding Member of the Bull Run faculty.  I participate in the SOAR program as a SOAR teacher helping to reinforce our Code of Behavior and the high expectations we have for our students' conduct. 
I am married and have been for 39 years.  I have two grown children, a new son-in-law, a rescued Siberian Huskie named Dixie, 2 rescued cats- Baxter and Ashes- and the original cat- Oreo- that is 18 years old.  My husband and I love to take our travel trailer and camp in the mountains.  We just completed a 8200 mile trip to the western states of Colorado, Idaho and North Dakota ending in the Great Smoky Mountains. of North Carolina.  We live in an awesome country! We also are constantly working on our 100 year old farm house.  I am an avid reader that requires that all of my students have a novel with them at all times! 


I am looking forward to working with our students this year.  We will have a challenging and exciting school year.
